Conceived as an extension to a home built 25 years ago, this farmhouse was designed as a space for the client to gather with family and friends — a place for connection, celebration, and quiet retreat. The heart of the design is a central courtyard that anchors the open floor plan, gently dividing it into more intimate zones. This allows the space to feel welcoming during smaller gatherings, while still offering multiple breakout areas when hosting larger groups.

The architectural language is intentionally raw and tactile, defined by cement-textured walls and exposed brick laid in a custom pattern to form a staggered, expressive edge. These materials lend a sense of honesty and depth, allowing the structure to feel grounded yet open.

At the rear, a thoughtfully landscaped backyard extends the living space into the outdoors, opening up to sweeping views of lush paddy fields. The landscape is layered to soften the building’s edges — creating a sense of openness and airiness, while preserving privacy and a feeling of quiet closeness with nature.
